Seylan Gems & Jewelry
Tsavorite is a green grossular garnet, colored by vanadium and sometimes chromium. It is not emerald. It is singly refractive, usually not oiled, and fine stones are often small because large clean crystals are scarce.

Emerald is beryl, doubly refractive, and usually clarity-enhanced. Tsavorite is garnet. A vivid small tsavorite can look stronger, carat for carat, than a larger emerald that is more included. Compare color in daylight, then compare species, treatment, and millimetres. Do not compare only the word “green.”
The main sources are Kenya and Tanzania, not Ceylon. If a listing states origin, it should not borrow Ceylon just because our shop’s other stones are Ceylon.
A one-carat vivid tsavorite is already a serious stone. Larger sizes exist and the price steps up sharply. Yellowish or dark stones are still tsavorite and should be priced as the color you see, not as the finest green.
The garnet calculator density is only a rough check. Trust the stated carat.
Fine tsavorite is usually untreated. That is a species habit, not a certificate for every stone. Read the item.
No. Demantoid is andradite garnet, with more fire and a different density. Both are green garnets. The name on the listing should pick one.
